“Laudate,” or
“Praise,” is an original design created for Brenda Lackey. The imagery of the
cross, the doves, the flowers…all give emphasis to the call, “Praise!”—to praise
the beauty of the Lord.
The base fabric is a
dark purple-indigo metallic silk, and all of the appliqué fabrics are varying
shades of purple, blue, pink, and gold, in metallic fabrics such as glitterdot,
tissue lame, and metallic brocade. All of the embroidery, including the script,
is freehand machine satin stitching in similar metallic shades. The skirt
lining and bloomers are made of metallic gold lycra.
The gold lettering
on the cape is Latin, with a Celtic script:
“Omne quod
spirat laudet Dominum.” (Psalm 150:6)
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
“Laudate” was
completed in July of 2005. |
