"Windows"

Windows is a
new, one-off original design Irish dance dress from Silverlode Needlecraft,
inspired by pieces of several stained glass window designs of Frank Lloyd
Wright, with the addition of roses.
The primary base
fabric (front) is a light cream-gold metallic silk, overlaid with a red metallic
netting; the base fabric (back) is a red-black dupioni silk overlaid with a gold
metallic netting. The appliqué consists of various metallic fabrics in shades
of reds, golds, and peach-orange. The embroidery is freehand machine work in
metallic shades of red, gold, and light rose. The pleats—front and back—are a
multicolor glitterdot. The skirt lining and bloomers are made of a red
“shattered glass” lycra, and the dress is accented with Swarovski crystals in
the colors of Fire Opal and Sun Aurora Borealis.
